Stony Brook, NY (May 30, 2024) – On Tuesday, May 28, one person was killed and another was hurt after a rollover accident in the Stony Brook area. The deadly accident was reported at the intersection of Stony Brook Road and N. Country Road around 7:17 a.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene after being notified of a 2004 GMC that had overturned after striking a tree.

When officials arrived, they found two men unconscious in the vehicle. Both were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. One of the occupants, 19-year-old Patrick Kelly, suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The other party was listed in critical condition. Their identity has not been released at this time. It is currently unknown who was driving at the time of the incident.
